October: Days UnderDoubts
[Discleimer- Dear readers, this is a brief history of two killings ( my time and your time). And it is not a bad place to kill a little time.]
The temperature dipped in here in Uttrakhand. The Game of Thrones fans can finally stop predicting 'winter is coming'. We are about to witness the fading away of leaves. Quite a lot of the greens have already taken a break from photosynthesis. When the snow arrives autumn has already done all the work, taking care of all the leaves and carefully sweeping summer away from people's memories. Our weather reports seem just like our minds. There are flashes of clarity in the chronology of haze and mist. Anyway, the monsoon has clouded my thinking I think. As from my writing, you can already guess, I guess. I believe I am stuck in a cold cycle. Where I stress about stress before there's even no stress to stress about. Or at times, I just have to play the role of a fool to fool the fools who think they are fooling me. And so on...
SUNDAY OCTOBER 8TH
When I had dinner here there was a war going on, in the conflicted areas such as Gaza and Ukraine. War is happening everywhere. Countries are fighting over the migration of people whereas environmentalists fighting over the environmental policy of not having migration of Siberian cranes. Our generation is battling with science versus religion. I believe science is just a subject. Simple and logical. Apple is a fruit owned by Eve first then Newton and then Steve Jobs. The whole scenario is like a real-life version of WrestleMania out there but with more politics and fewer spandex outfits. It is unfortunate that people use guns to shoot people whereas we could use phones or camera lenses to shoot people. Also unfortunately people bomb people and kill their lives, whereas we should bomb jokes over people and kill their time. Recently I read a piece of online news that said a country is planning a 'surprise attack' on its enemy country's territory. I'm like I don't think this should be in the news right! Because it is a 'surprise attack' right! sometimes I feel our missiles are smarter than us or our average 12th-class student, At least missiles can find Ukraine, Syria, or Palestine on the world map but we can't. I just want to say please never kill human beings. well, unless they're Hitler.
SATURDAY OCTOBER 14TH
We're living in the age of smartphones and stupid people. While it's everyone's right to be stupid, I don't like the abuse the privilege. I think we are like the R.K. Laxman cartoon character, who's standing in the side, and watching the world make a fool of themselves. Nowadays, everyone recording, photographing, and documenting their every move as if every individual has their own television channel. Let's face it; if people were genuinely as happy as they pretend to be online, they wouldn't spend so much time glued to their screens. I mean, who spends half of their perfect day taking selfies? But hey, who am I to judge? Maybe 50 selfies are the secret to eternal happiness.
SUNDAY OCTOBER 15TH
The bad news is Time flies faster than a caffeinated person on Redbull, the best news is we are the pilots (without any technical license)of our own lives. Being ahead of your time is probably the only way you can time travel. The most important thing is 'Travel'. Traveling is a process where you can out of your comfort zone. Your biases and assumptions are being questioned and remolded with every new encounter. My buddy Kavi is like a real-life 'Dora the Explorer'. She has been gallivanting all over the tacking with a killer soundtrack and a snazzy tracksuit. I'm not sure if she's got the wanderlust of Vasco da Gama or if she bought a really comfortable pair of shoes, but her travel bug gives me goosebumps. She keeps trying to convince me to join her on her adventures, or at least take a walk with her. Well, I have to admit that I am quite the expert at procrastination. I prefer to call it "strategic rest" instead of laziness. I like sweet romantic walks straight to the fridge. The fridge is a good example of what matters on the inside. I believe if you track the long passage for peace, but you aren't peaceful inside, you aren't going to find calmness at the summit.
I am at a point where I feel like I am spending too much time watching movies and shows, and reading about life instead of actually living it. So, I am trying to be more open to invitations and say "hi" to the world a little more. Maybe my friend Kavi is right I should buy a new pair of comfortable shoes. Cinderella is proof that a new pair of shoes can change your life.
WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 18TH
Lots of cool young people these days grooving and relating to the 'Brown Mundey' Rap song. But here is the twist- I'm not a fan of it. Because it sounds very confident for the fellas. I feel like..you know how molecules suspended in a medium, move around randomly because other molecules keep slamming into them. It's called 'Brownian motion'. I just move through life randomly, floating aimlessly through existence, pushed around by the people that surround me. In essence, we are all just Brownian molecules in grand cosmic dance, and there's no rap to capture the chaotic beauty of that!
THURSDAY OCTOBER 19TH
Wasting the 2 million years of evolution we are the same but have different fingerprints and identities. We are not in control of ourselves, so we learn to pretend that we are controlling our lives. For example, Our hearts are bars of soap that we keep losing hold of; the moment we relax, they drift off and fall in love and get broken, all in the wink of an eye. Despite all of this heart work( which is not in our control), I am blessed. I have someone who loves me, fights for me, never gonna desert me. Oh, you may ask who? well, it's my white blood cells!
SUNDAY OCTOBER 22ND
Wow( just like Saif Ali Khan)!! This week has been like the Olympics of marriages!. Every wedding pundit said " Shadiyon ka bahut achcha Lagan hai". I am really thinking about it. And it feels like there's very high cosmic energy or astronomical activity for good to get a pairing. I feel like even hydrogen's single electrons could find a match this week very easily. My social media feed is full of wedding reels and Virat Kohli's World Cup centuries. Nowadays, a pre-wedding shoot is a ritual in which the photographer makes two strangers fall in love(a great work of science fiction) & gets them ready for the wedding. I know marriage is a beautiful institution, but who wants to live in an institution? right! I don't believe in those people who think 'a woman can change a man', the only time a woman really succeeds in changing a man is when he was a baby.
SATURDAY OCTOBER 28TH
Dear YouTube, I can't thank you enough for introducing me to Indian Classical instrumental and Opera music. Beyond just genuinely love it. I feel it's quietly altering my feelings about the city, with which I've always had a slightly conflicted relationship. My Mind had been dead in a city, where I breathed smoke, air that was too heavy to float. too obese to move. Where the air is conditioned to suit the body. I've found that if you swapped out the blaring horns and obnoxious shouting for some sweet Pt Ravi Shankar and Mozart, the city became unbearably beautiful. After years of thinly disguised rage on both our parts. It's the music that has mediated a truce between us. I realized, it is neither time nor place-dependent, all we need is the right soundtrack.
SUNDAY OCTOBER 29TH
When life gives you a ring light be a creator don't be a social media influencer. Unfortunately, my brother chose the latter one. I mean, what's the difference between an influencer and a philosophy major? Well, One requires a degree to be useless, while the other just needs a smartphone to be useless. My brother recently asked me- should he get a tattoo for a paid campaign? or if his move will disappoint our parents?. I told him to go for it since our family was already disappointed. Plus, having a tattoo might actually make him more employable. Because it shows you can sit in a place for hours while tiny needles are jammed into your skin and that's what every corporate job and meeting felt like. suddenly I felt he was having a stroke or was choking, and then I realized that this is what he sounded like when he laughed. Really properly, from deep in his stomach.
